Based on 123 reviewsThe Fourth Fiend Taphouse in Meltham is widely praised for its welcoming atmosphere and attentive, friendly staff. Visitors appreciate its well-kept selection of craft beers, many locally sourced, alongside diverse pop-up food offerings that add variety and quality to the dining experience. The venue’s unique blend of historic charm with modern, comfortable interiors receives positive recognition, creating a cozy yet trendy environment. While a few guests note that the decor may lean more toward a café feel, this is generally outweighed by the excellent service, lively ambiance, and ample seating options. Overall, The Fourth Fiend Taphouse stands out as a distinctive local spot combining great drinks, food, and community spirit.
Great night on the pub with a scratch band doing Christmas carols. Staff were awesome, beer was good. What's not to love!!
The service was good, the beer well kept and the food from the pop up kitchen (little shri lankan) was incredible. The pub isn't decorated to my taste, having the feel of a cafe, but the plusses far outweigh that.
Absolutely great place! It's unique venues like this that make the small West Yorkshire villages special. Great, friendly service, superb beer & food (the majority locally sourced, including the craft beer). The interior of a very historic building has been sympathetically changed into an environment that successfully combines the vintage & comfortable with the more modern & trendy.
I visited The Fourth Fiend with a party from work, and Rad Burger were cooking. They are a "pop-up" burger business, and the kitchens of the Fourth Fiend were hosting them that evening. Other nights they have other companies cooking, but Rad Burger was outstanding. I had a nacho chilli veggie burger and masala fries and they were so flavoursome. The pub had a great atmosphere, friendly and merry. We joined the quiz, which was really good fun, especially the quiz host singing garbled songs for us to try and identify !
Stopped here several times both day and evening. Always a friendly greeting. Plenty of space and seating. Comfy couches at the far end are a winner. A few kiddies games down there too. Solid range of craft ale and beers on tap to try out. Ask behind the bar for a good description if you are not the 'just give it a go' type or even a diddy sample. Do friendly. Guest traders come in to do some interesting street food style menus.
Tess the proprietary needs to be re-educated in regards to a pet friendly pub as we had a maine coon kitten in holding it in my arms and an elderly customer who hates cats with a passion, made a complaint which tess took his side as the customers we are are we left disgusted as she sided with the elderly gentleman who was drunk and incompasitated side, and she could clearly see how i was holding our kitten in my arms as my birthday was ruined by her actions we were the better people for walking away. It was obvious that this guy was looking for an argument wouldn't recommend going in with a cat or any other animal as this guy should have been asked to leave a pet friendly pub as he clearly wasn't pet friendly
I’d have moved out of Meltham if the Fourth Fiend didn’t exist. They even let me sit on the bar when I’m a good boy.
Lovely place for a drink. Have taken the kids and it was fine. They have guest food which has been good in the past
